Historically the Costa’s south of Catalunya were the poorest regions in Spain. The poverty increased dramatically travelling south until the most arid of them all Andalucía! The decade’s before the Euro these regions property prices were less than -30% of the Spanish average. After the euro these regions became very popular with northern Europeans, driving up prices to over 220% above the national average.
